SRAM Launches All New GX Eagle AXS

SRAM announced today the release of a product that mortals of mountain biking have been waiting for since AXS entered the mountain bike market in early 2019. It is well known that the prices of modern bikes and components are a pain point for a large percentage of enthusiasts around the world. While the latest version of AXS will set you back a tad more than the mechanical XX1 group, it hits a price point that most of us will be willing to try and justify to our significant other. This GX group doesn’t bare the XX or X0 moniker that has long been considered the pinnacle of SRAM drivetrain innovation, but it does carry with it years of reliability and durability as a mechanical group. If the AXS version continues with the quality of its mechanical counterpart, the only reason to spring for XX1 or X01 would be so you can brag to your buddies about how many grams you saved. The GX Eagle AXS Upgrade Kit is available for $600 and includes the controller (shifter), derailleur, battery, charger, and chain gap adjustment tool. The controller and derailleur can be purchased individually for $150 and $370 respectively. Components are cross-compatible with other versions of AXS as well as all current versions of Eagle drivetrain components. Visit SRAM.com for details.
